Not the crew’s fault, but adding 20 minutes to a 45 minute flight sucked. As we lined up to board they gave our plane to a flight going to Newark. So then we got delayed until they could find another plane. I’m assuming since it’s a shorter flight they only offered water and coffee. Honestly, I didn’t expect that I will experience this long time wait during the check in.

You’ll need to RSVP online, so here’s the link. For kids ages 0-24 months, there is a special baby and toddler play area near the Children’s Village that is totally safe for them to crawl and explore! Be aware that age restrictions are not strictly enforced, so older siblings may join as well (pros and cons there!).
Exhibits
With KAYAK you can also compare prices of plane tickets for last minute flights to St. Louis from Los Angeles. There were 3 leg for the trip and each leg was delayed by 90 minutes or more. The boarding process takes forever with people waiting on the jetway even though most folks do not have carry-on. Can’t say there was anything I particularly liked. Seats were very tight, leather wrapped plastic.

Public Hour Field Trip
I paid just under 200 for flight and luggage, then paid 200 to change the flight, then paid 100 for a carry on. I bought a delta flight for 270 never flew with spirit, but spirit kept 250, not even refunding the 100 for the carry on though they cancelled the flight (for weather on a day with only a slight rain ). The entertainment was a bit lack luster. Better movie options as well as equipment that works smoother could be nice. My ear buds from the airline didn’t work and my tv screen had a terrible delay that made it hard to search for things to watch. The children’s museum opened in 1979, and somewhere around here I’ve got a button to prove it.

Finally on a chatline I could talk to a baggage agent, who filed another report as our luggage did not appear anywhere in their system. We love Magic House-themed birthday parties. The staff runs the entire party – it is incredibly hands-off.
MADE for kids is located in St. Louis’ Delmar Maker’s District on Delmar Boulevard between the Central West End and the Delmar Loop. Located just two blocks west of Kingshighway, the facility is on the second floor of the adult makerspace MADE STL. Very professional, knowledgeable flight attendants. Knew there was weather, and were notified of 20 min delayed, and then suddenly canceled.
In this mock neighborhood, kids learn about fire, water, and traffic safety, and they can even get fitted for a bike helmet. Older kids also enjoy the chance to star in a television newscast and have fun with an electrically charged ball you can touch to make your hair stand on end. At the "Make-It Workshop," they can see how a 3D printer works or build a sculpture from recycled materials.
For just MADE for Kids, there’s an annual membership ($75, two adults, four children). Finally, there are usually a couple of flash sales each year for the higher membership levels, so following The Magic House on social media is a good idea. This included a large wrap-around porch, an expanded lobby and an elevator that allowed the Museum to be accessible to all visitors.

You can also find these cards (which look more like brochures) at Dierbergs, Shop ‘n Save or Schnucks. The free Fridays are always the 3rd Friday of the month.
It takes more than one day to fully explore and enjoy the scholastic treasures found on every floor of the Magic House. Exhibitions such as the Bubble Room and the Lewis and Clark Adventure are designed to educate and entertain people of all ages. Visit the art studio at the lower level early in your visit. You can leave your child’s paintings there to dry while you explore the rest of the museum! Just don’t forget to pick them up before you head out, or you WILL be making a return trip at the insistence of your children (speaking from experience). In 2019, to further extend the reach of The Magic House in the community, we opened MADE for Kids, a new satellite location created for children ages 4-14 on the north side of Delmar Boulevard in the City of St. Louis.
The event includes access to a party room for the reserved party time, a cupcake, and one or more crafts. Be aware that you will need to pay for both children and adults, as all guests will have access to the Magic House after your party! You can also reserve the Magic House for a private party. Here at The Gentle Barn, kids gain an understanding of animals, see how much we all have in common, and get to expand their empathy for all living beings.
Learn their names, witness their larger-than-life personalities, fall in love, and feel like you are here with us. After a presentation that is geared to age and grade level, the children get to brush the horses, hug the cows, give the pigs tummy rubs, talk to the turkeys, play with the goats and the sheep, and so much more. It is an educational, hands-on experience that they will never forget. Our school program is appropriate for kids K-12. Located in a renovated Victorian mansion, the museum invites kids to role play, conduct experiments, and get physical on the hopscotch courts in the outdoor play garden.
You don’t have to be a kid to appreciate all the wonder and knowledge that is packed inside the walls of St. Louis’ Magic House. The Magic House engages all children in hands-on learning experiences that spark imagination, pique curiosity, enhance creativity and develop problem-solving skills within a place of beauty, wonder, joy and magic. This is the perfect place for family fun. There are also dozens of activities for elementary school-aged children, such as the kid-sized community with a bank, grocery store, library, and fishing pond. Tweens enjoy the recurring exhibit called "Kirkwood Safety Town," which frequently opens in the weeks around back-to-school time in the fall.
